Decentralized Detection '

چکیده
Consider a set of sensors that receive observations from the environment and transmit finite-valued messages to a fusion center that makes a final decision on one out of M alternative hypotheses. The problem is to provide rules according to which the sensors should decide what to transmit, in order to optimize a measure of organizational performance. We overview the available theory for the Bayesian formulation, and improve upon the known results for the Neyman-Pearson variant of the problem. We also discuss (i) computational issues, (ii) asymptotic results, (iii) generalizations to more complex organizations, and (iv) sequential problems.

Decentralized prognosis of fuzzy discrete-event systems
This paper gives a decentralized approach to the problem of failure prognosis in the framework of fuzzy discrete event systems (FDES). A notion of co-predictability is formalized for decentralized prognosis of FDESs, where several local agents with fuzzy observability rather than crisp observability are used in the prognosis task. An FDES is said to be co-predictable if each faulty event can be...
متن کاملMultisensor Distributed Sequential Detection
A conceptual generalization of the Wald’s sequential probability ratio test (sprt) to a decentralized environment is presented. The local tests are chosen to be sprt’s, which quantize the temporally iid observations into three levels for transmission to the fusion detector. Spatial independence among the local observations is assumed. The fusion test is also an sprt. An analysis for the decentr...
متن کاملA decentralised linear programming approach to energy-efficient event detection
This paper addresses the problem of decentralized event detection in a largescale wireless sensor network (WSN), where without the coordination of any fusion center, sensor nodes autonomously make decisions through information exchange with their neighbors. We formulate the event detection problem as a linear program, and propose a heuristic decentralized linear programming (DLP) approach to so...
متن کاملMinimax robust decentralized detection
Decentralized detection problems are studied where the sensor distributions are not specified completely. The sensor distributions are assumed to belong to known uncertainty classes. It is shown for a broad class of such problems that a set of least favorable distributions exists for minimax robust testing between the hypotheses. It is hence established that the corresponding minimax robust tes...
